Canvas is a conceptual magazine designed to spotlight the new wave of modern art. The creative directive was to build a publication that felt as alive, raw, and unapologetic as the artists featured within its pages.
To visually represent "Creative Chaos," I stepped away from traditional, sterile editorial design and leaned heavily into my "Creative Cross-Training" methodology. The cover and interior spreads utilize a rich, mixed-media aesthetic—combining intricate doodle patterns, vibrant paint drips, and distressed textures.
By contrasting the anarchic, street-art style illustrations with bold, structured typography, the design creates a tension that draws the reader in. It proves that even the most unfiltered artistic expression can be harnessed into a cohesive, highly engaging brand system.
